I am a gamer and when I am well I am a athelete. I am super competitive so for a bunch of reasons I sometimes loose my cool when I play. So I came accross the RagePAD idea naturally but then a school project made me realize it was not just something I imagined, it was a real need. You can read all about my origin story on this page

Why does my RagePAD+ sometimes not play a sound
Why My RagePAD+ Didn’t Play a Sound
Sometimes your RagePAD+ may not trigger a sound on a hit. In almost all cases, it’s one of the reasons below, listed in order of how often we see them.
1) The board hasn’t reset yet
If your RagePAD+ was hit recently, the soundboard may still be finishing the previous sound and resetting. Reset time varies based on the sound file length, but it always takes a few seconds.
Also, in the default configuration, the RagePAD+ will not trigger again until the vibration sensor fully settles. If you strike the pad very hard, it can take a little longer for the sensor to settle.
If reset time is a consistent issue, you can change the IO setting in the RagePAD+ config file from 02 (default) to 01. This tells the board to interrupt the current sound and start a new one, which some users prefer depending on their play style.
2) The hit wasn’t hard enough (sensitivity varies by person and surface)
We tested 18 different sensitivity variations across multiple strike strengths and surfaces to find the best overall setting, including:
-
Hits from a 10-year-old, 14-year-old, and a very strong young adult
-
Surfaces like a chair arm, table, and floor
-
“At rest” testing to reduce false activations from ambient vibrations
Even with that testing, vibration behavior can vary by surface and user. Depending on your setup, your RagePAD+ might:
-
Trigger unintentionally on high-vibration surfaces, or
-
Not trigger if the hit is too light for that surface/setup
3) The switch is in the OFF position
The RagePAD+ sound model has a small on/off switch. Make sure it is pushed fully toward the “R” logo (ON).
4) The battery needs charging
RagePAD+ uses a rechargeable battery and should last for hundreds of activations per charge, but sound file type and usage conditions can reduce battery life.
Quick check: pick up the RagePAD+ and gently shake it. If no sound plays:
-
Move the switch to OFF
-
Plug into a USB power source to charge
-
Charge until the red light turns off, indicating it is fully charged
5) Custom sound files are corrupted or the wrong format (rare)
If you loaded custom sounds and certain files do not play, confirm:
-
The sound files are in the required format, and
-
They play correctly on a PC using the default media player (no special codecs)
If you want, I can also rewrite this into a tighter “FAQ card” style for the product page, or a shorter “quick troubleshooting” version for the printed insert.
What is the difference between the RagePAD and the RagePAD+
The only difference between the RagePAD and the RagePAD plus model is the strike activated sound board. So when you hit your RagePAD+ it will play sounds. The standard sounds are destructive like breaking dishes or a car skidding to a crash. However the idea is for people to customize their soundtrack to what works best for them to release their frustrations and get back to the game.
I can not reach the switch with my fingernail.
The switch in the RagePAD+ is accessible through the port with something like the tip of a pen it is not designed to be accessed with your finger. Since the RagePAD+ can be charged, connected to a PC, and used while in the on position we found in testing testers seldom ever turned them off so we did not add the expense of making a switch adapter that would allow for easy operation with your finger. However customer feedback may prove otherwise over time.
